Euphoria Creator Sam Levinson, Drake & More Pay Tribute to Angus Cloud

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has paid tribute to young actor Angus Cloud, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 25. Levinson and several of the cast and crew behind the hit HBO series have now expressed their sadness over Cloud’s passing, with Levinson releasing a statement which has obtained by Deadline.

“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon,” Levinson said in a statement. “He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”

The official Euphoria Twitter account has also released a short statement following Cloud’s death. “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud,” a spokesperson for the series said. “He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

The executive producer behind Euphoria, the rapper and songwriter Drake, took to Instagram to share an image of Cloud alongside the caption “Good soul.”

Actress Kathrine Narducci, who portrays the grandmother of Cloud’s character Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in Euphoria, also took to social media to say “you were a gentle beautiful soul. You exited to soon.”

Angus Cloud’s Family Has Released a Statement Following His Death

No cause of death has yet been revealed, but Angus Cloud’s family has released a statement in which they describe how the young actor had been struggling with the loss of his father. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” the statement reads.

“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” the statement continues. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Lighting up the screen with his powerful performance in Euphoria, Angus Cloud has since starred in the independent films North Hollywood and The Line. A rising star in Hollywood, one of his final roles will be in the upcoming drama Freaky Tales alongside Pedro Pascal and Ben Mendelsohn.
