According to recent intel from The Cosmic Circus, the working titles for both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars are as tantalizingly sweet as they are mystifying: Apple Pie 1 and Apple Pie 2, respectively. Now, while some movies are known to give away little teasers through their working titles, the fifth and sixth Avengers entries seem to have steered clear of that tradition. Instead of offering hints, they seem to be tantalizingly keeping details under wraps, much to the chagrin of the fandom who are now buzzing with theories over the choice of these titles.

The working titles aren’t the only mystery though. Specifics about these two chapters are being closely guarded by Marvel Studios. What is known, however, is that they will bring a close to the expansive chapter referred to as The Multiverse Saga. The working titles suggest that the stories will have a similar connection to that seen between Infinity War and Endgame, which started out as a two-part Infinity War movie. The antagonist to watch? Kang the Conqueror, whose impending clash with the galaxy’s heroes promises to be of epic proportions. Scriptwriter Jeff Loveness, with credits including Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, hints at a high-stakes narrative. Word on the grapevine suggests that “The Kang Dynasty” will lead to multiple character demises as it paves the path for a grand multiverse confrontation in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Casting decisions for these installments have fans on the edge of their seats. While it’s nearly a given that Jonathan Majors will return as Kang, thanks to the storyline’s focus, much remains to be unveiled about the ensemble cast. Simu Liu, the sensation from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, spoke on the whirlwind of speculations regarding his role. He revealed his own uncertainty about his character’s involvement, saying,

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be in it too. Beyond that, I really don’t know, and I don’t want to know before it’s absolutely ready. If there’s anything I’ve learned in this industry, especially with Marvel, it’s that things are changing, always in flux, and you really can’t be sure that something is going to happen until you’re on set and you’re about to do the scene.”

Mark your calendars, Marvel aficionados. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will debut on May 1, 2026, and soon after, “Secret Wars” will make its appearance on May 7, 2027.
