A Scandal Cast Reunion Is Happening Virtually, and You Can Join In

It’s been five years since Scandal was last broadcast, and even though Grey’s Anatomy continues to plod along, many consider the former show to be Shonda Rhimes’ greatest achievement. It’s certainly won of her most successful, winning a Peabody Award among many other achievements and nominations, and at one point drew 12 million live television viewers (for the fourth season premiere).

The hit show about a political fixer and her orbit of influence is back in the news for a bit, with a virtual cast reunion taking place. A charity auction is now ongoing, though will end July 27, which will allow the highest bidder to join in for a private meet and greet. Courtesy of CharityBuzz, the auction will support the IAMA theater company in Los Angeles, which is pushing boundaries in its promotion of otherwise marginalized voices. Check out more below.

“You and a guest will join Scandal actors for a one-hour virtual happy hour reunion! Join the actors and stories from on-set and see what they have all been up to after the show,” reads the auction description.

Cast members will include Josh Malina, Guillermo Diaz, Bellamy Young, Tony Goldwyn, Dan Bucatinsky, George Newbern, Jeff Perry, Scott Foley, Cornelius Smith Junior, and Katie Lowes, though certain attendees are subject to availability. The winning bid allows two people to hjoin in on the reunion and sspeak with the cast (minors must be accompanied by an adult). The approximate duration is one hour. This is a private virtual meet and greet, so sharing of login information is forbidden and can result in cancelation of the experience. Recording, screen grabs, or distribution of the session is strictly prohibited unless otherwise approved by the donor.

CharityBuzz has a variety of interesting auctions available to bid on at any given moment. For instance, there was an auction is available for a virtual game night with Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen, along with Katie Lowes and Adam Shapiro. There’s an auction for an Epiphone acoustic guitar signed by ZZ Top, an electric guitar signed by The Beach Boys, or an acoustic guitar autographed by Darius Rucker, Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, Matt Stell, Brett Eldridge, Old Dominion, and Chris Young, which benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
